The Rivertowns Tourism Board consists of an advisory committee of citizens from the villages of Dobbs Ferry, Hastings-on-Hudson and Irvington. They manage the activities of Short Escapes, a magazine and portal at Shortescapes.net that highlights off-the-beaten track travel experiences for consumers, meeting and event planners, and helps communities develop tourism. The activities of the Rivertowns Tourism Board include:

  • Create and maintain a Web site of useful information for visitors and walkers
  • Produce useful walking maps with services and attractions
  • Set up travel kiosks in key areas
  • Introduce travel guide writers and tour operators to the area
  • Organize group tours
  • Market the destination 

The Rivertowns Tourism Board is funded by sponsorships designed to help local merchants generate new business.
